Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Pakistan organized a Roundtable Conference on Impact of Incubators and Accelerators on Pakistan’s Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in collaboration with Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IWCCI) and Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI). It was held on 31st March, 2017 at Federation House, Islamabad. The event was attended by more than 20 officials representing business incubators, accelerators and other entrepreneurial organizations from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Peshawar. The organizations which participated were: Telenor Velocity, National Incubation Center (NIC), JumpStart Pakistan, Invest 2 Innovate, Deloitte Consulting, Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Alishverish, Social Innovation Lab, ORIC - FAST-National University Islamabad, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Revolt (Peshawar 2.0) and Kafe Kaam. The current status and progress of incubators and accelerators in Pakistan was highlighted during the conference along with strong potential of Pakistani entrepreneurs and startups to participate in global arena for showcasing their products and generating revenues in addition to strong social impact. The structure and capacity building of incubation centers was also discussed and participants proposed the need for strong collaboration setup and sharing expertise at national level with a special emphasis on outreach at grass roots level.
